A Natural Mix of Meadow Grasses and Wildflowers

This hay comes from Devon fields where many meadow plants grow side by side. For example, the grasses may include cocksfoot, sweet vernal and Yorkshire fog. In addition, the crop may contain knapweed, meadow vetchling and meadow salsify.

Because this is a natural meadow crop, the exact mix will change from bale to bale. Therefore, every plant listed may not appear in every bale. However, this natural variety gives each harvest its own colour, scent and character.

Sheep-Grazed Devon Meadows

Sheep graze our Wildflower Hay fields until the start of spring. After that, the fields are left to grow and the meadow flowers are given time to bloom. The grasses and flowers can then develop together before the hay is made.

When the crop is ready, it is cut and sun-dried in the traditional way. As a result, the finished hay has a light green colour and a sweet, fresh aroma. However, its exact shade and texture may change slightly between harvests.

Varied Hay for Natural Grazing

Wildflower Hay offers a mix of soft leafy grasses and firmer stems. Therefore, it encourages rabbits and guinea pigs to sort, forage and choose their favourite pieces. This variety can also help keep keen hay eaters interested.

A Plastic-Free 3kg Mini Bale

Each 3kg Mini Bale is held securely with recyclable, plastic-free cardboard strapping. We then place it inside a sturdy cardboard box without plastic packaging. Therefore, the bale stays neat and is easy to handle and store.

You can feed the hay straight from the box or move it into your own storage container. In addition, the compressed bale helps reduce the mess often caused by handling loose hay.
