Description
Nature First Natural Play Ball – Willow and Maize Leaf Toy
The Nature First Natural Play Ball is a woven willow toy with maize-leaf strands incorporated into the ball. These projecting strands create easy-to-grab points that pets can bite, lift and use to toss the ball around during supervised play.
Measuring approximately 9.5cm in diameter, the ball is compact enough for rabbits, guinea pigs and compatible small pets to nudge and move around their enclosure.
Two Natural Textures to Investigate
The woven willow body provides a firm, rounded surface for gnawing. Softer maize leaves are woven into the ball and extend from it, giving pets another texture to grip and explore.
Because willow and maize leaf are natural materials, the precise colour, shape and arrangement may vary slightly. These variations are completely normal.
Easy to Grip, Lift and Toss
Place the ball inside the enclosure and allow your pet to investigate it in their own way. They may push it with their nose, hold the maize-leaf strands in their teeth, lift it or toss it to a different spot.
You can move the ball occasionally or loosely hide it among clean feeding hay to renew interest and encourage searching.
Natural Toys and Feeding Hay
The Nature First Natural Play Ball adds another shape and texture for natural exploratory and gnawing behaviour. However, chew toys do not replace the prolonged chewing provided by long-strand feeding hay.
Rabbits and guinea pigs must always have unlimited access to fresh feeding hay and clean drinking water. For a soft, fragrant option to use alongside enrichment toys, try our Devon Orchard Hay.
Safe Use and Supervision
Choose toys that suit the species, size and chewing habits of your pet. Supervise pets when introducing the ball and inspect it regularly during use.
Remove and replace the toy if it becomes heavily damaged, wet, contaminated or small enough to present a swallowing risk. Clear away any loose pieces that are no longer suitable.
