Description
Timothy Seed Heads for Rabbits and Guinea Pigs
Our Timothy seed heads are long, fluffy grass heads that rabbits and guinea pigs can nibble as an occasional treat. Their interesting shape and texture make them easy to offer by hand or hide among hay for a simple foraging activity.
Each packet contains an average of approximately 25 seed heads. As this is a natural product, the precise length, fullness, colour and number may vary slightly from pack to pack.
A Natural Treat with Plenty to Explore
Many small pets enjoy investigating the fluffy tops and working along the stem. The different texture adds variety without replacing the long-strand feeding hay they need every day.
You can offer the seed heads individually during interaction or place them in different areas of a clean forage tray. Moving the hiding places occasionally can help keep the activity interesting.
Perfect for Hiding Among Hay
Tuck a few heads loosely into a pile of fresh hay and allow your pet to find them while grazing. For a softer hay with a sweet aroma, pair them with our Devon Orchard Hay.
Never use seed heads as a substitute for feeding hay. Rabbits and guinea pigs should always have unlimited access to fresh hay and clean drinking water.
How to Feed Seed Heads
Offer two or three seed heads at a time as an occasional treat. Introduce them gradually if they are new to your pet and adjust the amount to suit the rest of their diet.
Supervise your pet when introducing any new treat. Remove pieces that become damp, heavily soiled or contaminated, and store the remaining pack in a cool, dry place.
